The first “micro switch” or
snap-action switch was invented by Peter McGall in 1932 in Freeport, IL. In
1937, he founded the company MICRO SWITCH, whose name became synonymous with
snap-action switches. Later, MICRO SWITCH was purchased by Honeywell, who
continues to manufacture snap-action switches and sensor products under the
Honeywell Sensing and Control name.
RS Electronics is one of the largest Honeywell Sensing and Control distributors
in North America. Our selection of
Honeywell
switches contains a wide variety of snap-action switches including these

Basic Snap-Action Switches—Snap-action switches work like limit switches
except that they utilize a pin or plunger actuator rather than a lever. Basic
