  Richard Miller Retirement
  Major General Martin Umberger Congratulates Brigadier General Richard "Dick" Miller
 


January 7, 2012 – Richard S. “Dick” Miller, RS Electronics Vice President of Sales as well as Brigadier General and Deputy Commanding General of the 38th Infantry Division, Indianapolis, Indiana, retired from the United States Army in a ceremony held at the Indiana War Memorial, Indianapolis, Indiana.



At the time of his retirement, General Miller had served the United States for over 36 years. During that time, he served as Commander RC South located in Kandahar, Afghanistan, for Task Force Phoenix III. He commanded all Embedded Tactical Trainers in Southern Afghanistan and was the Senior Advisor for the 205th Corps of the Afghan National Army. He served in Afghanistan from August 2004 until August of 2005.



General Miller has been the recipient of numerous awards and commendations, among them the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States War College.

 

“I am truly honored to have served my country and to have served with the finest men and women this country has to offer. I am blessed to have been able to represent my country as a General Officer and will continue to serve in a civilian capacity to represent our soldiers through organizations like the Association of the United States Army and the National Guard Association of the United States.” said General Miller.

 

Among the many distinguished guests were Major General Martin Umberger, Adjutant General for Indiana; Major General Joseph Culver, Commanding General, 38th Infantry Division; Major General Omar Tooley, Commanding General, Center for Complex Urban Warfare; Winston Stalcup, former CEO RS Electronics; and Brad Kautzer, Vice President & General Manager, Honeywell Sensing & Control.
